Hang them all!

On my favorite building site the hangman needs to sort out his axes of choice.

In my role as head of design and work-coordinator I allow for 1(!) board only to have his best pieces hung and presented.

A place for everything & everything in its place!

We make use of some old floorboards cut to size.

Fix a couple of battens to the back for ventilation.

I lay out the chosen ones in a decorative manner.

And fix screw in place for each axe to hang on. Easy.

What to present a(n Italian) hobby-cook with?

Correct; potholders of course.

One matching the china in colour. One in "tomato".

As there is yarn left...

...a third - in the Italian's banner manner.

And finally a fourth to go with the first.

Midday napping - just as his comrades?!

By dusk it is clear. He's dying. Does not want to move, can hardly keep on his tiny feet.

The next day he's gone.

And the others...

... are and look a bit lost.

conservation interlude in Emsland

My place of work for two weeks. Yes, be jealous please!

I am to "tidy up" a set of upholstery furniture.

100 years old. Art nouveau.

A settee and two armchairs.

Structurally sound all three. But dusty and dirty.

The upholstery is extremely faded and worn in the usual places. Partly only rubbed off, but torn too.

Some decorative cords have come loose.

And suchlike.

As there is no big budget for this I am asked to do what is needed only to make it look "nice". Kind of.

Photos are done infront of the "Deele" - on a bedsheet.

Inside the Deele a garden table becomes a desk.

And for the vacuuming I lift the objects upon a couple of foldable beer tables. Make-do in its finest! ;)

The needlework I do inside the house in one of the bedchambers - outside it is simply too cold.Dann zum Nähen rein ins Haus - denn auf der Deele ist es KALT! :s

Wauwi & Wauwili

Vor Weihnachten erreichte mich ein Schreiben... :o

Zwei Lieblingsstofftiere sind nach 10 Jahren

Durchknuddelei stellenweise doch recht formlos

geworden. Und der Hunde Ohren hängen in Fetzen. :(

Ostern kommen dann - nach langen Verhandlungen - auch die Wauwis bei mir an. Einer nach dem Andern. Denn ganz ohne Wauwau schläft es sich immer noch sehr schlecht. :s
